Carey,
I did not have the opportunity to meet you at the Summer Conference however I wanted to send you a special letter of thanks. AMTC has been an incredible experience. Simply put the opportunity to be with a Christian company in such a secular profession is a wonderful thing. However, through the experience I have been challenged to pursue my career with even more vigor and have made lifelong networking connections.
Who knows where the Lord will lead with this, but I received great feedback at the conference. I have just been offered a three month contract with CFL Talent (much more than I ever expected). I have set up a date with a producer who will be helping me record more of my original material. If nothing else, AMTC helped to push me along in the process (something I should have done a long time ago).
In addition, I wanted to let you know of a vital member of your staff. Janice Maze is simply incredible. I really don’t know how else to say it. She has been patient with my questions and has been a “friend”. Both she and her husband were my fans all during the competition. Those people are greatly needed when you are surrounded by such magnitude of talent. I’m sure you were aware of all of this concerning Janice, but I wanted to put in writing.
In addition, your daughter, Lexy, is a great encourager. She even taught me one of your “family” words—pitimus (I’m sure I butchered the spelling on that). She told me to use it on you and assured me you would know what it means. I’m praying it isn’t something bad.
Thanks again for AMTC and all you do. You opened the doors, now the rest is up to me.
Sincerely,
Jay Thompson
