What the Contestants – and Their PARENTS – Had to Say

From the Contestants:

I learned so much this week! Confidence will help you grow through your career. A beautiful body and face are not enough to have a career. Personality and a fabulous attitude will take you far. Also, I have opened so many doors. I would do this over again in a heartbeat! My director and agency made sure I was ready for this event. They were so supportive. I love them! This was an awesome experience for me. It has made me realize modeling is really what I want to do. It is my passion, and thank you for finding me, supporting me, and for loving me! Danielle Curran

AMTC has made me feel so good about myself and has given me a lot of self-confidence. Amber Woods

There is nothing you could have done to make this experience better for me. It was amazing and I love all of you. One thing I would say to someone new is that if you are an actor, this event is a MUST! Chelsey B

It was more than what I expected. I thought I would be on my own, but I wasn’t and everything was so organized. The agents were a lot nicer than I expected and the seminars were actually fun. CPC taught me to control my nerves, they have given me confidence that I can do this, they believed in me before I believed in myself, and the training was awesome. I would not change anything. Everything within their (CPC) power was perfect. If I could give advice to a new family, I would say that you should do this no matter what. It is an amazing experience and you get to feel what the life of a model is like while meeting so many people. I developed many new friendships. Sarah Campbell

And Now for the Parents:

There were so many agents and I was blown away by the caliber of the talent. The exposure is great and saves a lot of travel expenses to meet people from all over the globe! Paula Curran, Mother of Danielle

Amber has had the experience of a lifetime and I feel that her self-confidence has grown. I have learned that my daughter can do whatever she puts her mind to and I love her so much for having the courage to step onto an International stage. CPC was there every step of the way, answered my questions, and calmed my nerves. This event was everything I hoped for and more. Mrs. Woods, Mother of Amber

This event is family friendly and was appropriate for a young audience. As a parent, I feel the event was greater in value than my financial investment. Mr. Campbell, Father of Sarah

This event was exactly what I expected. We were very well prepared. Thank you. I now understand why Julie and Cheryl were very “picky.” Standards are high at CPC and I believe it has set us apart from all the rest. Cheryl and Julie have been very supportive and encouraging. Mrs. Hunking, Mother of Donika

I have learned so much about this industry. It was a great investment and we would do it again. Julie was always available to us during AMTC. She never seemed frustrated with us or gave us the impression that our questions were petty. Thank you for that. If I can make a suggestion to a new family it would be listen to your director and have your child expand their horizons. Models, try acting. If a model does not want to be an actor but is encouraged to compete in a speaking/acting event, they will learn valuable life skills they can use for the rest of their lives. Laurie Gibbons, Mother of Teena

As a fairly quiet shy girl of 15, Jaclyn first became involved with CPC in 2005. This experience changed her forever in a terrific way. She became a confident, outgoing girl who dared to dream of becoming a runway model, and is now slowly fulfilling this goal. CPC has very much been part of this process as she participated at the Millie Lewis Actors, Models, and Talent competition where she was able to have access to many agents in the business. CPC helped Jaclyn prepare for this event and Julie traveled with this group that competed to guide them and show her support.

Julie, who has always believed in Jaclyn’s ability to be able to succeed in the modeling world, put her in touch with the right people and Jaclyn just participated in 3 shows during Toronto Fashion week. Perhaps in the future Jaclyn will be able to go overseas to fulfill yet another dream of modeling in another country.

I know Jaclyn would not be where she is today without the support of CPC, specifically, Julie. We owe a great deal of gratitude to Julie and the agency for their support and guidance over the last two years. The security they offer to anyone joining the agency gives you peace of mind knowing that people and places have been checked out ahead of time so that you are safe in this industry, and there is no better comfort than that. Kathryn Vens, Mother of Jaclyn

It was with great trepidation that I drove to Toronto with my daughter to attend an audition. She took it upon herself to schedule this and how could I refuse such initiative? Being a pretty girl, I was not surprised that she received a “call back” so we went. Then it began…

We agreed, on our long drive home, that since Olivia had always dreamed of becoming a model at least now we were trying to help that dream come true. We were off to Florida and, perhaps more importantly, to Disneyworld. At least that is how I rationalized the expense to my husband. As time went on, I began to feel more and more nervous about my decision. But there was a constant shining light and her name was Julie Young-Marcellin. Julie was at all times professional, caring, and graceful. She was all the good parts of this industry rolled into one. She answered my questions with intelligence, and alleviated my concerns about the industry.

It seemed unbelievable to me that we should have been so lucky to attend this model search, but apparently it was meant to be. Without an ounce of exaggeration, everything we were told was true. AMTC was superb, first class all the way, a pleasure to attend and worth every penny. Now my words of caution would be: do not break the bank to do this, know you can afford this, be realistic about your expectations. However, you and your child will truly benefit from the experience no matter the outcome.

Would we do it again? Absolutely, and we plan on it. Victoria Booth, Mother of Olivia

Initially, I was extremely hesitant to involve my family with the entertainment industry. The rumors of scams, wasted money, and disappointment are numerous. We found CPC to very reputable, family oriented, honest, and professional in every way. My daughter has received education, guidance, and encouragement in the past year that is enabling her to remarkably blossom from a tween into a mature, confident young lady. We are extremely grateful for the opportunity. Deborah Gerstmar, Mother of Paige
